LOVE - An Unconditional Voyage
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.
Felt this quote coming true my way, when I started hearing one heart-soothing story that I felt 'I should share it to the masses of CEG'. Months after confessing their love, this couple finally got down to walk through the memory lane.

It was almost 10
P.M, when he sat down to express the immense love he had for her. "It started when
I was in my 2nd semester. My days were boring with routine stuffs, possibly because I didn't meet one such heartthrob in the campus.
One fine evening I was making fun of my roommate that he wasn’t brave enough to
talk to girls. I scared him that I would send I love you' message pranks to all the
girls in his contact. As he didn’t bother, I started searching for girls names
to send the message, that’s when I saw her name, fate played, a feel of déjà
vu! Yeah! We were classmates during 4th grade after which she left
the school. To my surprise, I still remembered her. Even during my 4th
standard she was atypical and bold. Since she stayed for just one year, her
name was registered in my mind, for obvious reasons. I had to confirm it. Initially
I started texting from my friend’s phone. Soon I started texting from mine.
When she kept her picture as display picture, I confirmed that it was her and
she had saved my number but still she could not recognize me. “Can we meet?” was
my next question. I took a leap to ask this. What could she think? “Yes” came
the reply. I was a bit nervous, as it was our first meet. Fear comes free with
excitement. It was almost 7:00 P.M in the night. Our meeting spot was in the
middle of the sports ground, virtually the meeting spot for many other couples.
The exhausted sports person were already leaving to have their dinner that’s
when she came into the ground through one of the many gate near the gallery
.She came with her friend. I was also standing with my friend. Literally felt irritated of having two subject-less pillars in play between us. Each of her
closer steps made my heartbeat grow faster enviably. We greeted each other and
after few minutes of talking, we decided to go to the canteen."
With a sudden startle he said "Gulab Jamun was the first thing we ate together in canteen". He smiled "When we were in canteen a gang whooped her name. I later came to know that she was a dreamy girl for many other guys around the campus. Many followed her and had a crush on her. If a pretty girl exists around the campus, no matter what, she'll become the talk of the town in the nuke and corners of the campus. The hierarchy of love went like this - Best Friend, Human Diary and the Other Half. After we met in the canteen we became good friends and started to meet frequently. I was happy that I settled into the first hierarchy with ease. Our calls were short and sweet. She used to ask me, were there any incidents that we shared in school days so that she could remember me. Her most frequent question was that how I remembered her after all this year with the high-point fact that we neither shared a good rapport nor a long span of acquaintance in school time. Soon the semester got over. Chats were our only way of communication during the summer holidays. Chats went limitless. It became my routine habit. My whats-app frequent chats always had her name at the top. Few times during the chat, I purposely made her wait; It’s always good to watch your close ones getting tensed and waiting for you. Slowly our bonding grew; I felt that I became an important person to her. When I am frustrated, she gives me good advice and stands by my side. Everything was normal until college reopened. The gang turned into a trouble, one among the gang also loved her. Sometimes when I meet her, the guys would surround and trouble her. I would then talk to them, console them and leave her in the hostel. She felt safe and secure when she was with me. One day evening around 7:45 P.M, when she was returning from ATM, the gang started following her, she ran to the middle of the ground and called me. I went as swiftly as possible. The gang was standing near the gallery entrance. I went straight to her. She grabbed my hand tight. We started walking towards the entrance, on seeing them blocking the way I became tensed. Maybe a hero inside me awoke. She felt my hands becoming tautened. Luckily, her department friends came for the rescue and took her to the hostel. I was there talking to the gang, giving advice to them to propose to her gently though I was burning with anger inside, maybe an undefined possessiveness grew uncontrollably big. That’s when I felt that I lost something in me. I didn’t sleep that night. Late night, I called her shedding tears, she asked me repeatedly that why was I crying, and then I finally said “I want to be with you forever, will you?” “Puriyala” she replied. The most stereotypical reply of girls even if they know what we mean. I repeated it again. There was a few minutes of silence, “what should I do now?” she asked. I was crying literally. ‘I said what I had in my mind, if you say no then we can remain friends forever’. I had my fingers crossed hoping that she wont friend-zone me. His face expressed that exact moment, it went blue. ‘The following day was a fine Saturday morning, 23rd July. I got ready and met her at 9:30 in the car park. She kept on asking what happened the previous night. I held her hands all of the sudden and said “I love you” After which followed a two hours long hard-to-listen advice.’ He sighed. ‘She replied that she will wait till final year, and to find out if my love is really lasting amidst the barriers which we had to face. I started crying again. Love boozes the senses. I was not able to control my tears. After few hours when everything became normal, we went back to our hostel. The following week we planned to go to home. As her town was next to mine, we decided to go together. Around 5:30 P.M, We took adjacent seats in the bus. Minutes of silence, we did not talk much. Around 7:30 P.M when the bus was moving gently on the NH road , she turned towards me, all of the sudden she held my hands and said “Na una namburan, kadisi varakum en kuda irupanu, I love you ”, he paused ‘the best day in my life'" He finished with a blush on his face.
"Forever is a HUGE Time, But I wouldn't mind spending it with her" was his bottomline to the endless love of his life.

ReplyDeleteI liked the way u present...The story tickled me to read further....
ReplyDeleteClimax of the scene...disappointed
If I were u....I would have cooked up with extra masala.Since it's a real one, that's negligible.
:)
Thanks sir. Yes sir since it was real story, i couldn't build up. But from next i will try to write the climax in more emotional way.
DeleteHey! It's well written.
ReplyDeleteBut one small suggestion: Try to add paragraph breaks. It will help the reader to follow the story easily. Otherwise great idea.
Love,
Ex-CEGian
Sure.. Will keep them in mind...!
DeleteGood one bro.. Since yu r writing in first person, explain more about "how I felt at that moment"!! Like, give metaphors to enhance the emotion.. that way, people 'll get into tat character and feel it..
ReplyDeleteJust a friendly suggestion.. :) :)
